Accountability and Student Achievement

The Association is aware of the differing levels of governance among school board members, however, due to the demand for accountability related to student achievement, boards must work collaboratively to effectively govern and support administration through monitoring, assessing, and responding to district-wide student performance data.

“School board members serve their local communities as stewards of public trust charged with making decisions that ensure all students have access to high quality learning experiences in efficient and well managed environments.”
- National School Boards Association
